Itinerary & Trip Details

Day 1: Arrival in Mae Sot
Arrival in Mae Sot

Arrival at Mae Sot Airport, Pickup and transfer to our hotel. Check-in and relax for the rest of the day before we begin our Umphang expedition on the next day.

Day 2: Into the Jungle

Into the Jungle

Early breakfast then drive via winding mountain road to Umphang valley by the Burmese border, it’s a scenic journey through the mountains passing Karen and Hmong villages on the way. Our adventure begins as we hop on bamboo rafts down the Mae Klong river, passing by a natural hot spring and Ti Lojor spray waterfall, an amazing sprinkle of water falling from a 100m tall cliff onto the Mae Khlong river. This peaceful and unique river descent has some of the most breathtaking scenery in Thailand. Disembark the rafts and continue our adventure with a trek into the Jungle (mostly uphill) to reach the Thi Lo Su waterfall forestry park where we will spend the night at the park’s campsite. Our local guides will prepare our delicious Thai dinner and relax for the rest of the evening under the starlit sky

Day 3: Thi Lo Su Waterfall

Thi Lo Su Waterfall

After breakfast we will go visit Thailand’s largest and most impressive waterfall, Thi Lo Su! Spend the morning exploring this unique, multi-tiered waterfall with some idyllic swimming spots scattered within the falls. After experiencing one of Asia’s most impressive waterfalls, refuel with some lunch before continuing with our trek through the forest to our second campsite in the midist of Umphang wildlife sanctuary.

Day 4: The Hilltribes

The Hilltribes

Today we hike through bamboo forest and rice fields then alongside a stream leading to a rustic Karen village. Upon arrival in the village relax and refuel with lunch before we hike to a hidden waterfall arguably more beautiful than the famed Thi Lor Su. Spend the afternoon swimming in this magical place before returning to the village in time for dinner. Overnight in a traditional bamboo hut.

Day 5: Farewell Umphang

Farewell Umphang

Breakfast then go for one last hike to the Mokido river crossing where our vehicle will be waiting for us to drive us back to Umphang for lunch, then we drive back to Mae Sot.

Day 6: Into the Andaman Sea

Into the Andaman Sea

Transfer to Mae Sot Airport and fly to Krabi, pickup upon arrival then transfer to the Pier to take a longtail boat to the heavenly island of Raialy where we are going to spend the rest of our journey.

Day 7: Phi Phi Islands

Phi Phi Islands

Breakfast and a free morning by Railay beach and in the afternoon we sail into the Andaman Sea to the famous Phi Phi islands and Maya Bay on Speedboat. Made famous by the Leonardo di Caprio 2000 movie ‘The Beach’, we will explore all the main highlights of the islands, including Bamboo island, viking cave, Pileh Lagoon and finally the stunning Maya Bay. Afterwards we sail to Phi Phi Don island and relax by the beach then hop on the boat again for a sunset tour to Maya Bay with bbq dinner on board and when the night is upon us, we will have the opportunity to snorkel with the amazing bio-luminescent plankton then sail back to Railay.

Day 8: Hong Island

Hong Island

Today we board a traditional longtail boat and set sail to Koh Hong. The Hong islands group is one of the most beautiful islands in this area with the spectacular backdrop of Phang Nga Bay. The island encompasses a magical lagoon in its interior known as ‘The Chamber’. The entrance to the lagoon is through a dramatic cliff passage and once inside, the pristine lagoon is revealed, fringed with sandy beach under steep limestone cliffs. Afterwards we will sail to the paradise-like island of Lading for lunch then sail back to Railay where we can opt to use kayaks to explore the nearby islands and beaches or hike to Railay viewpoint and the hidden lagoon.

Day 9: Departure

Breakfast, then transfer to Krabi airport for final departure
