An epic 12 days trek through the Great Himalayas range in the footsteps of great explorers to the southern base camp of mighty Everest at 5,364m. The trek is crafted to ensure best acclimatization so you can enjoy one of the world’s most amazing treks.

Arrival in Kathmandu, the capital and cultural hub of Nepal. Pickup and transfer to the hotel for overnight.

Short morning flight to Lukla, a small Himalayan town which is the gateway to Everest region. Our trek starts with an easy trail follows the banks of the Dudh Koshi River until Phakding village.

Today we will continue our trek to Namche Bazaar, the capital of the Everest region and the biggest Sherpa village in Nepal. Our trail takes us over the Dudh Koshi River via several suspension bridges and beautiful pine forests. First we make our way to Monjo then to the entrance to Sagarmatha National Park for a spectacular view of massive snow-capped Himalayan peaks. Afterwards we will descend to to Jorsale then continue uphill to Namche. Upon arrival at Namche we will be rewarded with our first glimpse of mighty Everest.
We will spend the next day resting in Namche Bazaar allowing our bodies to acclimatize to the high altitude. We will have the chance to explore the village and its ancient monasteries, this place was historically an important stopping point for trading expeditions across the Nangpa La to Tibet. In the afternoon we will hike to Everest viewpoint for a panoramic view of the mountain and the great Himalayas.

Back on our trail to Everest Base Camp, our destination today is the village of Tengboche. Breathtaking views of the Himalayas, Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kwangde are waiting for us along our trail today. We will also visit Tengboche monastery which is one of the biggest in the Khumbu region. We will take a tour around the monastery grounds, followed by chanting and prayer with the resident Buddhist monks.

Trekking Time: 5-6 hours
Our trek today will take us through the rhododendron forest to Deboche followed by a bridge over the raging Imja Khol River. We’ll pass the valley wall and then traverse the plains to Pangboche village, a typical sherpa village and the biggest in the Khumbu region. We can also hike to visit Pangboche monastery, the oldest in the region. Our afternoon trek will be a difficult one, as we leave the greenery behind and start trekking into the dry, deserted mountains as we hike towards Dingboche.
The next day is our 2nd acclimatization stop of our trail. This is our chance to rest up before the last leg of our adventure! We will have the chance to explore Dingboche and the surrounding valleys of Chhukung and Imja. We can also opt for an optional hike up to Nagarshang Hill, which is 300m higher than Dingboche with great views of Makalu, Lhotse and Cho Oyo, three of the six highest mountains in the world.

Trek to Duglha village through Khumbu valley where we will pass by yak herder’s place and grazing lands with awesome views of mountains on all sides. Here are the memorial stupas dedicated to the climbers and trekkers who lost their lives to Everest over the years. Spending a night in Duglha is ideal for acclimatization at this higher elevation.

The next part of our adventure brings over rough mountain terrain to Lobuche, a small village with amazing views of Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Pumari and the Nuptse.

Today is the big day! First we trek to Gorakshep on a relatively easy trail then embark on our final leg before we reach Everest base camp. The trek to EBC will take us through glacial moraines and by the infamous Khumbu Glacier and icefall, located on the slopes of Everest. Upon reaching EBC (during climbing season) you will start to notice the tents of climbers preparing for their legendary expeditions to summit the world’s highest mountain. We will have a chance to meet with the climbers, take-in the surrounding beauty and coming face to face with the southern face of mighty Everest. Later on we will trek back to Gorakshep for overnight.

We will wake up before dawn to trek to Kalapathar our highest point of the trek and the location of one of the most dramatic views in the Himalayas. From here we will have a panoramic view of Mount Everest and the surrounding peaks. Afterwards we will descend to Pheriche for overnight.

On the next 2 days we will trek back to Tengboche and Namche on the first day then to Phakding and Lukla on the second day. Trail is mostly downhill until we cross Hillary suspension bridge back to Lukla.
