Arrival in Kathmandu airport in Nepal, Pick-up and transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel

Spend the day exploring the main sites of Kathmandu valley. We will start by visiting the Swayambhunath temple (Monkey temple) main Buddhist temple in Nepal then continue to visit Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal’s most sacred Hindu shrine then conclude by Durbar Square and the palace of Kumari, Nepal’s living goddess.

Drive to the airport to catch our Trans Himalayan Flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa with amazing views over the Himalayas. Pickup at Lhasa airport and transfer to the hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and getting used to the altitude (3,650m).

Spend the whole day exploring the magical city of Lhasa, starting by Jokhang Temple, Tibet’s most sacred temple then continue to Potala Palace, the legendary seat of the Dalai Lama then Sera Monastery which is famous for the Monk debates and conclude by Barkhor Street and Tibetan traditional markets.

Start our epic road trip across the Tibetan Plateau by driving from Lhasa to Gyantse (3,950m) via mountains passes Kora-La (5,010m) & Kamba-La (4,794m) then make a stop at Yamdrok Lake, the Sacred Lake of Tibet. The scenery of the turquoise blue water of the lake with the reflection of surrounding snow-capped mountains is breathtaking. Afterwards we make a stop at the stunning Karola Glacier then continue to Gyantse to visit Pelkor Monastery and its famous Kumbum stupa then continue to Shigatse (3,860m) through Tibetan beautiful countryside.

Today we visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the seat of Panchen Lamas then continue our road trip to visit Sakya Monastery with its unique Mongolian architecture then make our way to Tingri (4,348m) via Lhatse and Gyatso-La pass (5,200m).

Early in the morning we drive to Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery (4,980) facing Mount Everest. Today’s drive is on a bumpy mountain road but with some of the Himalayan highest peaks surrounding us all the way. Upon arrival at Rongbuk guesthouse we will be rewarded by the breathtaking view of Everest’s Northern face. Later on we make our way to Everest Base Camp (5,200m) where climbers start their epic treks to summit the world’s highest mountain. The views of Everest from so close make the mountain seem even more impressive than before. It is a truly amazing experience to stare up at the sheer North face of the world’s highest mountain. Afterwards we go back to the Monastery for overnight.

Wake up for the amazing sunrise over Mount Everest and the Great Himalayan range then make our way back to Tingri then continue to Gyirong town next to the Tibetan/Nepali borders. On the way, we will drive along the majestic peaks of Mount Shishapangma (8027m), one of the world’s highest mountains and marvel at Pelku Tso Lake beneath the peaks.

Transfer to Gyirong port, go through immigration and custom formalities then cross Friendship Bridge on foot to Rasuwagadhi in Nepal and finally drive to Kathmandu where our epic road trip comes to an end
